Utilizing the distributor/contractor channel, Honeywell's building control products are made available to serve engineers and building owners with varying size and complexity needs.
Honeywell has three independent contractor channels that are served by distribution. Descriptions of each program are below. And as the accompanying chart shows, the contractor channels have varying access and authority to offer Honeywell products to create the best possible solution to meet the needs of each individual customer.
Honeywell Authorized Controls Integrators (ACI)
- Serve the complete range of commercial building applications from small to multi-location
- Authorized by Honeywell to install and service SymmetrE™ and XL5000 Lon-based automation systems, Honeywell WEBs-AX and the Light Commercial Building Solution™
- Required to have certified training in HVAC products, WEBs-AX (Niagara Certification) and SymmetrE
- Required to have two trained and certified technicians on staff to support the product(s) they choose to sell
Honeywell Automation & Control Specialists (ACS) / Building Control Specialists (BCS)
- Serve a range of commercial building applications from small to large
- Authorized by Honeywell to install and service SymmetrE™, Honeywell WEBs-AX and the Light Commercial Building Solution™(must meet ACI training requirements to sell WEBs or SymmetrE)
- Required to have one trained and certified technician on staff to support the product(s) they choose to sell
Honeywell Commercial Automation Contractors (CAC)
- Serve small- and medium-sized commercial buildings
- Have access to Honeywell WebVision™ Controller and Light Commercial Building Solution™, but have not received the training to sell and install them
- No minimum technical training requirements
